Improving expertise in drug dose calibration on dialysis patients
Xanh-Pon Hospital has just coordinated to organize the Clinical Pharmacology 2023 seminar on the topic “Optimizing drug use on dialysis patients: opportunities and challenges” with the participation and sharing of many experts in the field of resuscitation and clinical pharmacology, domestically and internationally.
According to doctors, continuous dialysis is a method born in 1977 that has brought the specialty of Resuscitation – Emergency – Anti-Poison to a new level, solving many difficult situations such as septic shock, multiple organ failure, ARDS,… However, so far, recommendations from the medical literature on how to personalize doses for dialysis patients are still very limited and unclear.
Meanwhile, severe patients on continuous dialysis have a lot of changes in pharmacokinetics, leading to the level of commonly used doses that are no longer appropriate and the risk of patients not achieving therapeutic efficacy when the dose is low or experiencing toxicity due to high doses
